SP AF60mm F/2 Di II LD [IF] MACRO 1:1

Category:Macro Zoom Tags :

Let there be light.
The new 60mm 1:1 macro lens with a maximim aperture of F2.
Sharp image quality and beautiful out-of-focus effects bring new richness to photographic expression.

Amid the growing popularity of APS-C size DSLRs, photographers are looking to explore macro photography with a focal length that provides an angle of view equivalent to 90mm. With these users in mind, Tamron developed the SP AF60mm medium telephoto macro lens, boasting an extremely fast maximum aperture of F2. The sharp image quality at the point of focus and soft blurring effects in the out-of-focus areas render superlative images that will stimulate the photographer's imagination. From macro photography of flowers and insects in a natural environment, to portraiture that exploits the soft blurring effects, the speed of the lens also makes low-light photography possible. This high-performance lens was designed to be used in a wide range of photographic situations, allowing the user great flexibility.

High-resolution macro lens designed with uncompromising focus on performance.

This high-resolution macro lens achieves the overwhelming brightness of F/2, while at the same time preventing increases in aberration variations that may occur with the adoption of the large aperture. The adoption of two large LD (low dispersion) lenses allows advanced correction of chromatic and other aberrations. The new BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) multi-layer coatings and internal surface coatings (coatings on cemented surface of elements) have also been introduced to thoroughly reduce ghosting and flare.

Full-time manual control mechanism, enabling MF operations without switching mode

While the large focus ring maintains a solid grip during auto-focus mode, when fine-tuning of the point of focus is required the photographer can make delicate adjustments in manual focus mode by merely rotating the focus ring. This full-time manual focusing control mechanism enables seamless use of the auto and manual focus modes without needing to adjust the AF/MF switchover button.

Working distance of 100mm, the longest of lenses in this class

This lens' working distance of 100mm, the longest in its class*, means that an appropriate distance may be maintained while still enjoying 1:1 macro photography (when hood is not attached). Due to the internal focusing system employed, the overall length of the lens does not change when adjusting the focus, achieving major improvements in ease of use.

* Standalone life-size macro lens with a focal length equivalent to 50-60mm. Based on present Tamron research (June 1, 2009).

True-to-life 1:1 macro lens opens the door to an exquisite world.

Minimum focus distance: 0.23m (Maximum magnification ratio: 1:1)
The intricate details of the world around you that can't be seen with the naked eye can be captured by Tamron's 60mm macro lens. The maximum magnification ration of 1:1 will bring a whole new range of unique textures and appearances to your photographic expression, allowing you to produce and capture rare moments of beauty.

SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD

A New Chapter in the Distinguished History of Tamron’s 90mm Macro Lenses

A Legacy of Superior Optical Performance Now Reaches a New Plateau with Enhanced VC Functionality and Advanced Features

The SP 90mm F/2.8 MACRO VC (Model F017) is the most recent release in a successful line of Tamron SP 90mm macro lenses. It redefines the best in advanced features and succeeds a legacy of superior optical performance.

XY-Shift compensation has been newly added to reinforce VC functionality, further improving image stabilization capabilities at any shooting distance from infinity to macro. Advancements in USD control software have also increased AF focusing speed and optimally fine-tuned for various framing conditions. Furthermore, a high standard of Moisture-Proof and Dust-Resistant Construction has been added to prevent intrusion of dust or water droplets. Highly durable, Fluorine Coating is applied to the top element surface and efficiently prevents condensation of moisture and repels smudge-causing substances.

Meticulous craftsmanship is demonstrated in every detail of the exterior design of the newly transformed SP 90mm macro lens. The user can feel it in the exquisitely smooth texture of the metallic barrel.

Outstanding Depictive Capabilities and Anti-reflection Efficiency

The lens features an optical construction of 14 elements in 11 groups, including one LD (Low Dispersion) and two XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) glass elements that in consonance help to control lateral and on-axis chromatic aberrations at a very high level of performance. A Floating System works in tandem with the optical construction to efficiently compensate for inherent aberration changes subject to varying distances. Therefore, this lens ensures seamless and outstanding depictive capabilities across the entire shooting range – close or far.

Flare or ghosting can be detrimental to a decisive shot. A combination of 2 types of coating – eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) layered on top of BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) – dramatically improves anti-reflection efficiency to deliver flawless, crystal clear images even against harsh beams of sunlight.

Commitment to Extending a Legacy of Bokeh with Elegance

Tamron has maintained a reputable standard for generations of 90mm macro lens models — all the way from manual focus lenses to the current AF models — for their exceptional depictive quality with spectacular bokeh. We also set a high standard to keep pace with the upward migration of digital cameras with advanced technical features and high pixel density.

We have now balanced these polar traits at a higher level: raising resolution performance to a new standard of sharp images, while rendering a soft and smooth transition in gradation of blur-effect in background objects. Optical simulations were thoroughly conducted to realize both well-tuned bokeh effects, while minimizing disturbance in dual-line smear of linear-shaped objects naturally blended into the overall bokeh effect.

The result: the SP 90mm F/2.8 MACRO VC sustains the tradition of excellence in optical design while extending the limit in cutting-edge optical performance and beautiful bokeh.

Featuring VC with Shift Compensation

An accelerometer has been newly integrated into Tamron’s highly accredited VC to compensate for shakes on the x-y plane.

The accelerometer in unison with a gyro sensor detects and enables motion compensation for camera shakes for a maximum efficiency in image stabilization optimized for distance ranges from infinity to macro.

Optimally Tuned USD Actuator for Macro Photography with Manual Override for Instantaneous Focus Control

The USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) control software has been optimized for macro photography with increased focusing speed and positional accuracy when shooting in close-up settings. The AF drive responds rapidly yet quietly to zero in on the photographer’s point of interest and the Manual Focus Override enables instant shift in focus when necessary.

Moisture-Proof and Dust-Resistant Construction

Moisture-Proof and Dust-Resistant Construction has been improved to an exceptionally high standard in lens protection, preventing any intrusion of dirt, dust, or raindrops. A rubber seal protects each switch on the lens and sealing member is applied to the mechanical interface between the focus ring and the lens housing. The new construction further expands opportunities for shooting, ensuring reliability even in harsh, windy conditions and immediately after rainfall.

SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD

Category:Macro Zoom Tags :

The Perfect Lens for Portraiture

Just as a painter instinctively reaches for the right brush, a portrait artist reaches for an 85mm lens. The focal length is ideal for producing a pleasing image with true-to-life facial features in accurate proportion. While a wide-angle lens makes close objects appear larger than they are, and longer telephotos compress and flatten features, the 85mm medium telephoto is just right. Plus the working distance between you and your subject is perfect for making the personal connection that’s often missing when using a zoom.

The Tamron SP 85mm F/1.8 is the world’s first* 85mm fast-aperture lens with image stabilization. Its unique design allows us to include our VC (Vibration Compensation) system—without the lens becoming too large or heavy. What’s more, our SP 85mm F/1.8 delivers edge-to-edge viewfinder brightness for ease of composition and superior low-light performance. The fast aperture of the F/1.8 also offers the perfect balance of subject sharpness and bokeh, that dreamy blur which separates your portrait subject from the background.

Unsurpassed Clarity and Color

Chromatic aberration appears as magenta or green color fringing along edges and contours in images, especially against bright backgrounds. It happens, in part, when the optic fails to focus all colors of light on precisely the same point, and is more conspicuous in cameras with high resolution and high pixel densities. The SP 85mm F/1.8 uses LD (Low Dispersion) and XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass elements in the optical design to minimize color fringing and to achieve sharp and clear image quality with high color fidelity. In addition, by thoroughly reducing chromatic aberrations (distortion of off-axis point source) and astigmatism, subjects that appear as a distinct point source will be captured as a distinct point source even at the edges and corners of the frame.

Sharpness in Balance with Bokeh

The SP 85mm F/1.8 is designed to provide tack-sharpness of the subject for stunning clarity and flawless image quality. At the same time, Tamron’s design philosophy embraces the notion that photographers—particularly portrait photographers—use background blur, bokeh, as a creative element to concentrate emphasis on the subject. Through numerous simulations conducted for wide-ranging blur effects, such as a gentle, melting transition from the focused to the out-of-focus areas, Tamron has created a soft, natural blur effect that achieves perfect harmony with the inescapable sharpness.

Hold Steady with Vibration Compensation

The SP 85mm F/1.8 is the world’s first* lens with a fixed focal length of 85mm and a fast aperture of F/1.8 that’s equipped with the VC system. Camera movement—often too minute to be perceptible to the photographer—is the leading cause of unpleasant photographs. In addition, newer DSLR cameras with higher pixel densities are more susceptible to subtle camera shake.

This technology makes it possible to take photographs handheld in dim light and to make optimal use of slower shutter speeds and increased depth-of-field without extreme increase of the camera’s sensor sensitivity (ISO equivalent). This is especially important in portraiture because lighting is often low and the photographer needs the spontaneity of not using a tripod or disruptive flash units.

Resists Moisture

Areas of possible ingress surrounding switches and the boundary between the focus ring and the lens barrel are protected by special seals. This provides deterrence against the intrusion of water droplets. This feature provides an additional layer of protection when shooting outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
